The Smart Charge Management (SCM) and the EV Time-of-Use (EV-TOU) programs are two different programs that help EV drivers save money.

EV-TOU (EVSmart Vehicle Time-of-Use Rate)
The EV-TOU program is a special charging credit designed for EV drivers. While the rest of your home remains on a standard flat electricity rate, your EV charging can earn bill credits when you charge during off-peak hours, such as nights and weekends when electricity demand is lower. Your charging behavior determines whether you earn these credits.
Smart Charge Management (SCM)
Smart Charge Management is an automatic smart charging program powered by WeaveGrid. When you enroll in SCM, WeaveGrid actively manages your EV charging by creating an optimized charging schedule each time you plug in at home. The schedule is designed to prioritize charging during off-peak hours and times when electricity is most cost-effective.
Participants can receive up to $10 monthly for charging at least 60% of the time using WeaveGrid’s optimized schedule.
Automatic Smart Charging
Each time you plug in your car, WeaveGrid will generate a smart schedule that charges your car by your ready-by time.
The schedule takes into account a variety of live signals from Pepco such as energy cost, grid stress, and renewable energy.
While it's best to stick to the schedule as much as possible, you can opt out and charge immediately at any time.
WeaveGrid balances EV charging for you and your neighbors in coordination with other electricity use to reduce strain on the grid, reducing environmental impact of charging and keeping electricity reliable and affordable for everyone.

When signing up, you will be prompted to sign into your electric vehicle (EV) or home charging station account to establish a connection and enable WeaveGrid to receive data on when, how much, and where EV charging occurs.
While this data is shared with Pepco in order to provide program benefits, we do not share your EV or personal data with third parties.
WeaveGrid is committed to securing users’ data. We maintain stringent data security procedures to prevent details about our users and their charging and driving patterns from being misused or disclosed to unauthorized parties.
The WeaveGrid platform uses SSL/TLS encryption to secure communications with various external data sources, such as utilities and vehicles. WeaveGrid also uses AES-256 encryption for securing personal information (PI), personally identifiable information (PII), and data at rest, hosted in our own virtual private cloud (VPC). Additionally, our information security management program is aligned with industry best practices and highly regarded IT governance frameworks such as ISO:27001, SOC2, and NIST CSF. This means we uphold the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of customer data in the utmost regard.
