Duquesne Light's Smart Charging Rewards program offers EV customers a simplified charging experience and cost savings.

Your participation helps Duquesne Light understand the impact of electric vehicle charging on the grid.

As an EV driver, you get the unique opportunity to earn benefits, while getting access to insights that can help you understand your overall impact.

The Smart Charging Rewards program is risk-free and you can opt out at any time throughout your program experience.

A Smart Charging Event, also known as a Peak Demand event, occurs when Duquesne Light Company designates specific hours that are peak periods of high energy demand on the electricity grid throughout the summer, such as hot afternoons. As a customer, these events are opportunities to shift and reduce your electricity consumption to help support your community and the electricity grid.

Smart Charging Events will be called in the summer months from June to September, and will typically occur between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m.

If you are participating in this program, your EV charging will automatically pause and resume after a Smart Charging event. Typical events will be 2-3 hours, but will never last more than 6 hours. You can always opt out before or during the event if you need to keep charging.

- Must be a residential customer of Duquesne Light Company (DLC)

- A qualified vehicle or charger connection is required for duration of program

- Electric vehicle must be registered at your DLC service address

- Must charge at home with a Level 2 charger

- Not enrolled in a DLC time-of-use rate or Peak Saver Rewards Program

- You may opt-out of a Smart Charging event at any time
